Emad (emollick) argues that people are too focused on the current AI landscape, costs, and who is leading, while underestimating the fact that the capability curve is still rising steeply and rapidly.
He emphasizes that even without talking about ASI, most people expect AI capabilities to be significantly stronger a year from now than they are today; and at higher capability levels, many changes will happen very quickly.
