Teknium responded that no one is arguing "all models must be open-source/open-weight," and the debate isn't about absolute stances, but rather the industry's incentive structure.
He added that compared to other regions, he feels the model competition in China is much fiercer. This was an incidental industry observation made while discussing the competitive pressure between open-weight and closed-source models.
