Producing a Full Animated Movie Locally on Mac
divinetribe1 · reddit · 2026-07-19
The author noted a lack of examples of 'creating a full movie on local hardware' and shared a working solution: producing a 4-minute animated short film overnight on an M5 Max MacBook (128GB) with Wi-Fi disabled.
The pipeline components include: Flux for generating static frames, Wan 2.2 and LTX Animate for animation, Piper for voiceover, Ace-Step for generating and playing the soundtrack, and finally ffmpeg to stitch together the complete film with opening and closing credits. The author admits this isn't quite Pixar-level yet: characters drift, animations can only be generated in short clips, and a longer film takes about 12 hours of compute. However, it proves that 'creating a full movie on a single machine' is entirely feasible today.
