Replit Enables Package Firewall by Default
amasad · x · 2026-07-18
Updates regarding Replit highlight its decision to make security a core capability of its AI development environment.
The major update is that the Package Firewall is now enabled by default to block supply chain attacks. Through a partnership with SocketSecurity, Replit blocks around 8,000 malicious packages daily and filters out roughly 30% of false positives for non-exploitable "high-severity vulnerabilities." The post stresses that this allows users to focus on building without being interrupted by security noise.
