Enterprise CIO Survey: The Big Three Landscape is Set
BenBajarin · x · 2026-07-18
Ben Bajarin shares comprehensive conclusions on enterprise AI adoption, based on 10 H2 2026 CIO surveys covering 370 CIOs/CTOs across companies with annual revenues ranging from $25 million to $250 billion.
The core takeaway is that OpenAI remains the default enterprise choice, Anthropic is the fastest-growing player gaining market share driven by product, and Gemini has firmly established itself as the third-largest platform. Many CIOs use all three models simultaneously, routing workloads based on quality, cost, and governance requirements.
The report also notes that while open-source models are being evaluated, most remain in the experimental phase except for Llama. Chinese open-source models account for only about 2% to 8% of deployments or evaluations, having not yet crossed the enterprise trust threshold.
