AI Shrinks 9-Month Genome Analysis to 30 Minutes

A blogger points out that the first clinical genome analysis in 2010 took 31 scientists nine months to complete. Today, using Claude, the same analysis takes just 30 minutes, accurately identifying Alzheimer's risk alleles and drug metabolism variants.
They argue the question is no longer 'can AI assist science,' but rather 'which specific tasks require which AI, and where do humans still need to step in'.
