Here's a task inference experiment:
- With only the first frame, accuracy is 43%
- With 5 observations, accuracy rises to 94%
- Using only "first frame + compact implicit dynamics", accuracy reaches 90%
The authors conclude that this latent state does not preserve the full image sequence but retains the most useful future information, achieving a good balance between information compression and task understanding.
