Testing Autonomous Robots in Real Homes

The core conclusion of this post is that for a problem to truly surface during testing, three conditions must be met simultaneously:
- Memo must be fully autonomous;
- Evaluated in a real, unseen home environment;
- The policy must be reliable enough, otherwise network jitter will become the primary source of failure.
Essentially, as a system transitions from "semi-autonomous" to "fully autonomous," many issues previously masked by manual intervention or policy noise will be exposed in the real world.
