Prior Labs Officially Acquired by SAP

Frank L. Hutter shared an update: Prior Labs' acquisition by SAP is officially complete. The team will continue to operate as an independent frontier AI lab, maintaining the same members, office, and mission, while continuing to build open models.
He emphasized that the key changes brought by this deal include:
- Leveraging SAP's large-scale tabular data and distribution capabilities
- Deploying models more directly into large-scale scenarios
- Significant team expansion and active hiring
A follow-up note adds that joining SAP means extending the research timeline, enabling the team to undertake the long-term, high-risk, high-reward research that was difficult to sustain during their 18-month startup phase.
