Run Harness at High Intensity First for Better Results
madhavsinghal_ · x · 2026-07-17
A practical tip for building harnesses:
- Initially run the model in the harness using higher intensity modes, such as xhigh / max / ultra effort or -pro versions.
- Check if this actually brings verifiable improvements.
- If effective, distill the gains back into shorter prompts or a lighter harness design.
- This approach is particularly suited for long-chain tasks, where the benefits of higher effort levels are often more pronounced.
