Claude Code CLI Update: Limiting Search and Sub-Agent Loops
ClaudeCodeLog · x · 2026-07-17
Claude Code CLI has released its 2.1.212 update. New features include an auto-mode reset function; a session-level cap for WebSearch tool calls (default 200) to prevent runaway search loops; and a per-session limit on sub-agent generation (default 200) to prevent runaway delegation loops. Bug fixes address an issue where Bash commands modifying files ran automatically without permission prompts in plan mode, as well as a bug where hooks failed to pause when a tool execution failed or completed mid-way.
