Google Faces Internal AI Compute Shortage

According to Bloomberg, Google engineers are hitting **compute capacity limits** when using AI. The company mandates engineers to write code with AI, but there aren't enough computing resources to go around. The post also notes that Google's capital expenditure guidance for this year is **180 billion to 190 billion USD**, with Q1 capex reaching **35.7 billion USD**, more than doubling year-over-year. The CFO stated that spending will continue to increase significantly by 2027. The author speculates that if Google can't even satisfy its own engineers' compute needs, it's unlikely to slow down its capex.
