The author notes that while models are indeed much smarter than before, the pace of progress is still not fast enough to meet outside expectations.
A reply further points out that image and video generation have definitely advanced beyond expectations, but apart from that, many so-called "agents" are essentially just models equipped with tool-calling capabilities and rebranded, without any true qualitative breakthrough.
