Mimic Robotics Unveils Robotic Hand and Teaching Exoskeleton

Swiss company Mimic Robotics has released two new products: the M1 robotic hand and the U1 wearable exoskeleton.
M1 Robotic Hand
- Motors housed in the forearm with a tendon-driven design
- 15 active degrees of freedom and 21 joints
- Highly backdrivable with friction under 0.05 Nm, capable of sensing weights down to 50g via motor current
- Payload capacity exceeds 25 kg
- Fingertips equipped with tactile sensors to measure normal and shear forces
- Tendons use a pulley/bearing pathway instead of Bowden tubes to reduce friction, facilitating easier policy transfer across different hand types
U1 Exoskeleton
- Designed to record human teaching motions and achieve a 1:1 alignment with the robotic hand
Overall, this creates an embodied solution that seamlessly integrates "teaching data collection + robotic hand execution."
