Meta Proposes CwA: A New Vector Search Method
TimDarcet · x · 2026-07-16
Researchers from Meta's Superintelligence Lab released a new work named Cluster with Auctions (CwA). This method introduces a "bidding auction" mechanism, allowing vectors in a database to bid for their positions in clusters. While maintaining the same parameter count as K-Means centroids, CwA can accelerate partition-based vector search by up to 4 times in out-of-distribution (OOD) scenarios.
