OpenAI Unveils Codex Micro Keyboard

OpenAI has partnered with peripheral maker WorkLouder to launch the Codex Micro, a keyboard/controller designed for Codex workflows. Priced at $230, it is available for pre-order and expected to ship on July 24.
The device focuses on physicalizing AI programming workflows rather than just acting as a standard keyboard:
- RGB status lights indicate the agent's state (thinking, running, waiting, complete)
- A joystick triggers common processes like PR reviews, debugging, and refactoring
- Dedicated keys support high-frequency actions like accept, reject, push-to-talk, and new chat
- A knob adjusts Codex's reasoning level (lower for simple tasks, higher for complex ones)
The article notes this is essentially a co-branded version of WorkLouder's existing Creator Micro keyboard. While the hardware offers no major new tech, its value lies in turning the "human supervising multiple agents" workflow into a visible, tactile desktop console. Whether it becomes a new work standard or just expensive co-branded merch depends on the mainstream adoption of multi-agent collaboration and voice input.
