[Shared Post] The author demonstrates simulating "silicon crystal melting" on Tenstorrent silicon: by connecting Orb-v3 to TT-Atom, they computed the heating process of a 216-atom silicon crystal on a single Blackhole card until the lattice collapsed into a liquid near the realistic melting point of 1687 K.

The post highlights that Orb-v3 is an advanced model for predicting material behavior, highly sought after in materials science and engineering. In this demo, it achieved accuracy comparable to leading hardware but ran on a machine with roughly 5 times the performance per dollar of an H200. The author concludes that affordable and fast AI x Science hardware is incredibly valuable.
