Browsers Are Yielding to AI Agents

The author argues that we are entering the end of the "address bar, domain, and tab" era. Users increasingly bypass browsers, initiating tasks directly from AI systems like Claude, ChatGPT, and Siri.
In this shift, the browser transforms from a "destination" to a "runtime": it will still host links, logins, checkouts, dashboards, and documents, but what matters now is being indexed, cited, executed by agents, and accurately represented. Competition among websites is shifting from "who gets visited most" to "who is most accessible and operable by agents." The author also believes OpenAI abandoning Atlas was a smarter move, as systems that understand intent and act on behalf of users will be paramount in the future.
