The author used Claude Code as a "continuity department" and editing assistant for writing novels, tracking character settings, worldviews, and plot consistency. This allows them to dedicate more creative energy to the sentences themselves rather than manually maintaining notes.

They also conducted an experiment: testing 8 verifiable human-written texts across 11 AI detectors. Surprisingly, a piece written in 2019 (predating consumer LLMs) was flagged as more "AI-written," while a recent piece written with the help of Claude Code was judged as 100% human. The author uses this to critique the AI detection and publishing industries' moral panic, arguing that these tools are fundamentally unreliable.
