Google launches Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber for CodeMender, with limited access for governments

Google says models are now finding vulnerabilities faster than humans can patch them, so software defense must be powered by highly capable models.
- Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber is a new model built on top of 3.5 Flash and used in CodeMender, Google's AI agent for code security.
- The company says it reaches competitive frontier performance on benchmarks such as CyberGym while being optimized to find and fix vulnerabilities at scale at lower cost.
- Because of the dual-use risk, Google says the model will launch only in a limited-access pilot for governments and trusted partners.
- The attached chart shows Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber at 83.2% on CyberGym, between Anthropic's and OpenAI's cyber models in the comparison shown.
