Transparent Sandbox Solution for Running Python

samuelcolvin · x · 2026-07-16

Sam Altman shared a post outlining the trade-offs of a sandbox approach: - Option one is to "pretend to have built sandbox infrastructure," opaquely hiding the underlying provider from the outside. - Option two is to explicitly disclose which infrastructure the code actually runs on, and then build a new interface that makes it easier to run Python in the sandbox. They chose the second option and mentioned that people can reach out if they want to try it.
