Apple's China AI to Integrate Alibaba Qwen
智东西 · wechat · 2026-07-15
According to Zhidx, seven models from Apple, Huawei, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and Samsung passed the Generative AI service filing on July 8, meaning they can officially operate on domestic devices.
The most notable is that Apple AI in China will be powered by Alibaba Qwen. Alibaba stated that Qwen will be integrated as an AI capability into Apple Intelligence, covering iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS users in China. This allows users to directly experience text and image understanding and content generation without switching apps. The article also mentions that Apple previously explained at WWDC that the Chinese mainland version must comply with regulatory requirements, and Siri AI and new features are temporarily unsupported.
