Ex-OpenAI Researcher on Corporate Automation

Speaking on The Diary Of A CEO, Daniel Kokotajlo stated that Anthropic and OpenAI are attempting to "automate themselves": shifting away from relying on massive human workforces toward continuous operation by a large fleet of AI.
He envisions these AIs handling automated research, training new models, and letting more advanced models take over even more tasks. They would also communicate externally, gather data, build training environments, and execute business deals, essentially handing over the company's operations to AI.
His stated motive for this is that frontier labs are racing toward "virtually omnipotent" superintelligence, aiming to reach it before their competitors do.
