AgentSecure Update: Local Security Layer for Coding Agents

Ok_Top_5458 · reddit · 2026-07-15

The author updated AgentSecure, an open-source, local-first security layer for AI coding agents.

This update addresses issues faced by real users: new Claude sessions couldn't remember previous AgentSecure configurations. To fix this, the author simplified the workflow into a few commands: scan the project locally, start the daemon, and then launch Claude normally. All scanning happens locally with zero data uploaded. It also migrates real secrets from .env files into a local vault and securely passes them to the agent via MCP.

The author is seeking more technical feedback, especially from users already handling real development credentials with Claude Code or Codex.
