Autoregression May Not Be a Fundamental Flaw
nrehiew_ · x · 2026-07-14
The author pushes back against the narrative that today's models are fundamentally flawed simply because they are autoregressive.
Their argument: humans don't generate content bidirectionally either. We draft forward, then review, correct, and edit to finalize the result. Models can easily compensate using the exact same approach. The author also notes that plain RLVR independently arrived at a similar solution and included a link for reference.
