Humanoid Robots to Drop Below $1,000?

davidpattersonx · x · 2026-07-14

The author predicts that within 3 years, the price of fully capable humanoid robots will drop below $1,000.

The core logic is that humanoid robots consist of thousands of components. If production reaches the tens of billions, automated manufacturing will significantly drive down unit costs. Meanwhile, competition will reduce the use of rare materials, lowering the overall BOM. If factory production itself becomes fully robotic, combined with office automation, labor costs will no longer be an efficiency bottleneck.

The author further predicts that by 2030, 1 billion humanoid robots will be produced annually globally, with an average selling price under $1,000.
