Blind advocate Claire Stanley stated that riding in an autonomous vehicle in Phoenix gave her a genuine sense of "freedom" for the first time.

She emphasized that self-driving cars spare her from drivers who might refuse her service because of her guide dog, or from riding with uncomfortable drivers.
