Self-Driving Cars Enhance Mobility Freedom for the Blind

Blind advocate Claire Stanley stated that riding in an autonomous vehicle in Phoenix gave her a genuine sense of "freedom" for the first time.
She emphasized that self-driving cars spare her from drivers who might refuse her service because of her guide dog, or from riding with uncomfortable drivers. The post also noted that while current federal laws protect the right of blind passengers to travel with guide dogs, she has faced multiple refusals.
