Elasticity Institute has released its first paper, "The Economics of Recursive Self-Improvement." The authors divide the content into two main sections:
- Formal framework: Uses graphical representations for feedback loops, defining the "edges" in RSI (Recursive Self-Improvement) arguments as elasticity/responsiveness.
- Evidence review: Summarizes existing empirical research, provides a rough calibration, and lists what further evidence is needed for better calibration.
Rather than drawing direct conclusions, the paper aims to structure the discussions surrounding RSI into an analyzable and calibratable research framework.
