Reconstructing Personality Structures from Ancient Roman Texts

The core question of this preprint is: Did ancient Romans also recognize a personality structure similar to the "Big Five"?
The research team points out that while ancient Romans couldn't fill out personality questionnaires, they left behind extensive written descriptions of others, such as who was brave, stern, or loyal. To this end, the team compiled 8,032 texts from 88 BCE to 800 CE and extracted 3,516 personality adjectives, attempting to reconstruct personality structures from historical materials.
