Research results indicate that even when describing the same types of figures, Christian authors and Pagan authors emphasized different personality traits.
- Christian texts frequently highlighted: piety, holiness, asceticism
- Pagan texts frequently highlighted: courage, justice, severity, loyalty, etc.
The authors believe this difference isn't merely due to varying subjects, but rather that different historical traditions prioritize "important traits" differently when shaping character descriptions.
