GPT 5.6 Brings Qualitative Leap to Code Review
iskander · x · 2026-07-14
After using Opus 4.8 and GPT 5.5 for a while, the author tried GPT 5.6 for code review and subjectively felt a qualitative leap in performance.
They believe GPT 5.6 is significantly better at:
- High-level understanding of code intent
- Accurately judging design goals within the context
- Proactively anticipating potential future failure modes
The author adds that Fable might also reach a similar level, but they haven't yet been able to test it in scenarios involving biology-related content.
