Observational Results Do Not Equal Survival Benefits

The author further points out that observational results from the study do not prove a survival benefit, as certain VTs are inherently not "shockable." If the underlying disease is irreversible or not the type that an ICD can resolve, then even if the model predicts the risk, it doesn't mean it actually improves clinical outcomes.
