Odyssey Live Demos World Model

Jeffrey Hawke shared his perspective on world models live at @raais, arguing that "frontier world models" represent a missing form of intelligence.
The post notes that when Odyssey started, almost no one understood world models, but about 18 months later, it has become a top topic at NeurIPS. The event featured a live demo of a fully generated multiplayer version of GoldenEye, streaming in real-time from an H100. Hawke believes the current stage feels like the "GPT-2 moment for neural simulators."
The author adds that Odyssey secured seed funding in 2024, and just days after this talk, closed a $310 million Series B.
