OpenAI Temporarily Lifts Usage Limits
TheZachMueller · x · 2026-07-13
OpenAI has rolled out three updates for Codex and ChatGPT Work over the past 48 hours:
- Temporarily removed the 5-hour usage limits for Plus, Business, and Pro plans.
- Rolling out efficiency improvements for GPT 5.6 Sol, allowing it to run longer on the same quotas. Specific numbers will be shared later.
- The platform has officially hit 6 million active users, and a usage reset now completes within an hour.
The overall tone is a straightforward "get back to work" product update.
