Anthropic Faces Pricing and Competitive Pressure

After extensively testing new models in recent weeks, the author is eager to see how Anthropic will respond. With the rollout of the GPT-5.6 series, there are now stronger and cheaper alternatives, leaving almost no reason to continue using Sonnet and Opus. He also believes that while Fable is cutting-edge in certain areas, it isn't friendly enough for professional use and is too expensive. However, he personally appreciates its vibe, which is reminiscent of Opus 3, hoping Anthropic will accelerate their pace rather than releasing a "mediocre Opus 5." Furthermore, he mentions that GLM 5.2 is not just an Opus distillation, and Grok 4.5 is approaching Opus-level performance in coding scenarios at a much lower price, all of which piles pressure on Anthropic.
