Original Setup
- Previously had an RTX 3080 10GB and an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB installed together.
- Tried splitting the workload between both cards, but many ComfyUI workflows are incompatible with this setup.
- Changed to: 3080 for gaming, and 5060 Ti dedicated exclusively to ComfyUI.
New Adjustment
- Wanted to play a massive modlist for Skyrim VR, but the 3080's 10GB VRAM wasn't enough.
- Ultimately removed the 3080 and connected the monitor to the motherboard's Intel UHD 770 integrated GPU.
- This leaves the full 16GB VRAM of the 5060 Ti for ComfyUI, no longer occupied by desktop display.
Actual Results
- ComfyUI launches faster.
- Speeds remain consistent or even slightly faster when running image generation tasks exceeding 20GB.
- Skyrim VR experience is noticeably better.
- The whole system is more power-efficient, cooler, and quieter.
The author concludes that this setup—using the integrated GPU for the desktop and the dedicated GPU solely for generation and VR—unexpectedly fits their needs perfectly.
