Will AI Stagnate or March Toward ASI?

The author notes that the divide between "**AI will stagnate**" and "**achieving ASI in ten to twenty years**" is ubiquitous in reality. They also propose a take: even if highly "human-like" AI employees don't emerge in the future, **"Excel" will no longer be an appropriate analogy**. If AI can truly fully automate AI research, its way of working will be far more radical and unlike traditional software than today's tools.
