Closed-Loop Inference Enables Real-Time Robot Actions
omarsar0 · x · 2026-07-11
A post highlights "closed-loop" inference: while the current action is executing, the model drafts the next action chunk and then realigns its prediction based on the latest observation to avoid lookahead drift. A reply points out that turning this into a real-time system also relies on engineering optimizations, including expert distillation down to two steps per chunk, FP8 TensorRT, paged KV-cache, and runtime cleanup. It shares data showing a latency reduction from 927ms to 142ms and a maximum 6.5x end-to-end speedup.
