Chang Liu, a former senior systems electrical engineer at Apple, is accused of using his company-issued computer to access internal resources before and after leaving for OpenAI. He allegedly shared confidential engineering documents with a friend still working at Apple, Yu-Ting “Alyssa” Peng.

The post outlines key allegations from the lawsuit: Liu reportedly downloaded massive amounts of confidential files, including thousands of pages of technical documents and presentations on main logic board manufacturing and testing. He is also accused of sending Peng links to proprietary Apple files, instructing her on how to copy them to evade the security team, and suggesting she switch to LINE to avoid detection. Apple ultimately filed the lawsuit, titled Apple Inc. v. Chang Liu, on July 10.
