A user asked how to run the Codex agent within a Virtual Machine (VM) while still needing access to their computer. A responder shared their hands-on experience: Codex version 5.6 performs exceptionally well on standard coding tasks, but its computer-use capabilities saw limited improvement. When tested in VM environments like the Windows Sandbox, it struggled significantly with tasks such as modifying the sidebar of the Firefox PDF viewer.
