Reuters reports that Chinese AI startup DeepSeek is planning to enter the silicon business and develop its own AI chips to counter US export controls.
Sources reveal DeepSeek has been working on this chip initiative for about a year. The company is actively meeting with potential hardware and chip partners and has begun recruiting engineers for the project.
