Karen X. Cheng and Justine Lu collaborated on a project connecting a 1920s rotary dial phone to an AI Agent, using a mechanical display to reply.
Cursor assisted with coding: picking up the phone triggers recording, sending audio to an LLM for processing. Cursor also helped query Vestaboard's API documentation to route AI replies to the mechanical display board.
