India AI Hiring: LLM Skills Rank Only 10th
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-07-10
After analyzing 11,557 AI/DS job postings in India this week, the author points out a clear gap between job requirements and social media AI trends: Python, machine learning, SQL, data analysis, NLP, Java, and Azure remain the dominant requirements, with LLM skills only ranking 10th.
The author argues that Indian enterprises, particularly major clients like Accenture, TCS, and EY, are more inclined to layer GenAI onto existing Java/Azure systems rather than rebuilding their tech stacks around LLMs. It may take another one or two hiring cycles before "GenAI Engineer" becomes a mainstream job title.
