OpenAI Claims GPT-5.6 Tops Coding Agent Leaderboard

OpenAI officially announced that GPT-5.6 set a new record with a score of 80.0 on the Artificial Analysis Coding Agent Index, surpassing Claude Fable 5 (score: 77.2). Furthermore, GPT-5.6 achieved this while using less than half the output tokens, taking less than half the time, and reducing costs by about a third.
