ChatGPT Market Share Drops to 46% as User Base Surges
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-07-10
Data shows that ChatGPT's market share dropped from its 98.8% monopoly in December 2022 to 46.4% in May 2026. However, this does not indicate a decline, as the total global AI user base has surged to 2.38 billion. ChatGPT now corresponds to about 1.1 billion users, achieving a 41x growth compared to the early figure of 57.7 million. This indicates that while ChatGPT is growing the overall market, it is also driving the mutual growth of its competitors.
