The team at the Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR), Tsinghua University, has developed AIM, an agent system designed for mathematical research. Unlike AIs focused solely on solving problems, AIM assists researchers in brainstorming, organizing theorems, and generating proof drafts.

The team utilized AIM to complete an 84-page paper on symbol-embedded quantum algorithms. The research demonstrates a complete human-machine collaborative workflow: humans provide core intuition and oversight, while the AI expands candidate approaches, generates proofs, and handles complexity analysis. AIM's involvement has significantly boosted the exploration density and derivation efficiency of cutting-edge research.
