Gumloop Cuts Costs 5x by Swapping Claude for GLM
lqiao · x · 2026-07-10
Automation platform Gumloop replaced Anthropic's Claude 3 Opus with Zhipu AI's GLM-4.5 model for its internal agentic workflows. This switch successfully cut costs by about 5x without noticeably degrading the user experience.
This reflects a platform-level shift for open-source and open-weight models, evolving from "barely usable" to becoming the "default option," posing a massive threat to closed-source model providers.
