Anthropic's benchmarks reveal that complex tasks don't require using the most powerful models exclusively. A setup using a strong model for orchestration and weaker models for execution drastically reduces costs. For instance, pairing Opus as the orchestrator with Sonnet as the executor achieves 96% of pure Opus performance at just 46% of the cost.
