Open-Source LLMs Don't Guarantee Runability

The author argues that even if models are open-sourced, running ultra-large models on standard hardware remains highly challenging. Therefore, the availability of an OSS version does not equate to practical deployability. They also suggest that Chinese models could play a key role in filling this gap.
