Meta to Double Compute Power and Mass-Produce In-House Chips

According to an internal Meta memo cited by Reuters, Meta plans to double its compute capacity to 14GW by 2027 and will begin manufacturing its in-house Iris AI chips in September. The chip belongs to the MTIA project, designed by Broadcom and fabricated by TSMC, aiming to reduce reliance on Nvidia and AMD GPUs.
